Challenge:
The City of Henderson wanted a pool complex that would allow the community maximum use of two outdoor pools. HSA Architects designed the facility to allow swimmers to enjoy a dip even in inclement weather.

In order to achieve their objectives the owners and architects needed a large span operable roof enclosure with easy access from the exterior pool area to the interior pool.

  Solution:
OpenAire provided a retractable roof enclosure with 28 operable roof panels. The sidewalls are 15' high and include overhead rolling coil doors in every other bay. These unique doors provide 8'x12' openings all along the wall dividing the two pools and the wall separating the interior pool from an outdoor patio.

Technical Information:
The Whitney Ranch pool enclosure is sandwiched between two buildings of traditional construction, OpenAire had only to provide relatively small upper gable ends. The enclosure measures 101'x145' (18 Bays) with 15' high sidewalls. The roof is glazed with 1" (25mm) quintuple wall polycarbonate with each operable panel opening up to 50% of the rafter length.

"The OpenAire system as designed was provided and installed as promised. The functional aspects, acoustical value and light transmittance of the pool enclosure are phenomenal. It's clean and went up with no problems. OpenArie met every design requirement."
