Marriot, Erie, PA

Challenge:
"Scott Enterprises own several hotels and restaurants in the Erie, PA area. They identified a need for more reception space at their Marriot. Having past experience with OpenAire, they realized the potential that an operable roof, glazed structure would offer.

A sunny, outdoor feel could be achieved year round using OpenAire's operable roof building. OpenAire had worked previously with the Scott's on both a pool enclosure application and a restaurant patio cover.

  Solution:
The result is a spectacular, one of a kind "outdoor" reception area.

The Marriot reception area would have traditional infill in most of the vertical areas to block out the view of the parking lot while keeping one end glass that would open onto the courtyard garden. The resulting enclosure is 43'x59' with a Bermuda hip at each end. The roof is glazed with 1" (25mm) insulating glass as is the one end wall that opens onto the garden and the transom above the traditional infill all around."
