Features and Benefits

OpenAire retractable roof enclosures and operable skylight systems are unmatched by other solutions.

Benefits

Zero maintenance. Unlike steel framing, our maintenance-free, thermally broken aluminum framing system withstands moist, chemical aquatic atmospheres and never needs to be repainted.

Energy efficient. When the roof is open, heat rises. Air conditioning and dehumidification aren’t needed, offering incredible energy savings. And when the roof is closed, thermal breaks and vapor barriers control condensation, and air filtration reduces the need for air conditioning and long-running dehumidification systems, all of which means energy savings of up to 27% over traditional construction.

Lower life cycle costs. With a maintenance-free aluminum truss structure and a decreased dependence on artificial lighting, dehumidifaction and air conditioning, OpenAire structures cost less to operate and maintain, offering tremendous long-term value. Learn more about lower life cycle costs.

Increased usage. By offering the best of both worlds – fresh air and sunshine in good weather, and natural light and lovely surroundings all year round – OpenAire buildings draw more users, patrons and tenants to your building. It allows for aquatic programs to be held year-round in an appealing space, offers hotel and restaurant patrons all-season enjoyment of naturally lit, dramatic areas – and maximizes usage and revenues.

More natural light and outdoor views. Traditional construction simply can’t give you this much natural light or access to fresh air. Roof and sidewall glazing options include glass, polycarbonate and EFTE.

Engineering excellence. Our solutions are manufactured in-house. Every component is created by our expert team of designers, engineers, skilled manufacturers and certified welders and carefully inspected by our quality control professionals and independent third-party inspectors. Our experts install the structure on time and on budget, anywhere in the world, in any environment, no matter how challenging.

Top quality and durability. OpenAire systems have a minimum L/180 deflection criteria in every design, and offer proven performance in all climates, such as extreme cold temperatures and areas with heavy snowfall.
