The result is a new looking enclosure with a
retractable roof that works, opening a much larger area than before. The
opal polycarbonate used in the roof glazing allows much more light in.
Colgate University now enjoys fresh air swimming in the warmer months and
a bright inviting environment in the winter. |

OpenAire was able to salvage the existing aluminum
structure, skinning it with a more sophisticated operable roof glazed with
1" polycarbonate. The vertical areas were glazed with a combination
of 1" polycarbonate and 1" insulating glass with sliding glass
doors. The building is 96'x208' a gable structure with one end attached to
the main building.
