OpenAire was chosen to provide a pool enclosure that
would be the first thing people saw when looking at the site. With a large
span and some traditional infill (block in part of each side wall) the
OpenAire enclosure has created a striking structure that flows naturally
from the rest of the building while still creating a stunning new look.
The enclosure is primarily a glazed structure which offers a bright,
cheerful space to users and an attractive invitation to potential clients
(particularly at night when interior lighting makes the enclosure glow). |

The Clark County YMCA is 100'x58' with 10 operable roof
panels. The roof is glazed with clear 1" (25mm) five walled
polycarbonate and vertical areas are glazed with clear 1" (25mm)
insulating glass. Five Bays (approximately 40') in each side wall are
infilled with concrete block and windows to match the rest of the YMCA
construction. The full gable end is designed to be removable to accommodate
future expansion to include a second pool. |
